Tiang Mdluli, Teen Miss Juneteenth America Class of 2026 participant, brings academic excellence, leadership, and a heart for service to the Miss Juneteenth America Scholarship Pageantry Program.
As a young leader from Mobile, Alabama, she reflects the dedication, discipline, and community commitment that define the Miss Juneteenth America experience.
An 11th grade honor student at Mattie T. Blount High School, Tiang continues to build an impressive record of achievement through her academic success, leadership roles, and involvement in numerous school and community organizations.
Academic Excellence and Leadership
Tiang maintains a 4.0+ GPA and continues challenging herself academically as a dual enrollment student at Bishop State Community College.
Her academic dedication has earned her recognition as an honor student and an invitation to join the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, an organization that celebrates academic excellence and leadership among college students.
At Mattie T. Blount High School, Tiang has also demonstrated strong leadership by serving as class vice president for two years and currently serving as secretary of the school choir.d leadership presence — qualities that will continue to shine throughout her Miss Juneteenth America journey.

Tiang’s Dream HBCU is Florida A&M University, an institution widely recognized for academic excellence and a long tradition of preparing future professionals and community leaders.
At the Scholarship & Legacy Banquet in Mobile, Alabama, Dream HBCUs are recognized alongside participants as they celebrate educational aspirations and future goals.
Guided by Faith
Tiang draws inspiration from the scripture:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:6
This verse encourages her to remain grounded in faith and confident in the path ahead as she continues pursuing her goals.
A Future in Healthcare
Looking ahead, Tiang hopes to become a Nurse Practitioner with a midwifery certification, dedicating her career to supporting families and improving healthcare outcomes for mothers and children.
Scholarship funds earned through the Miss Juneteenth America Scholarship Pageantry Program will support tuition, books, and academic resources as she continues her educational journey.
Supporting Youth Leadership
Tiang’s nonprofit organization of choice is 100 Black Men of Greater Mobile, Inc., an organization dedicated to mentoring young people and cultivating leadership within the next generation.
Having participated in the 2025 class of the 100 Black Men program, Tiang values the organization’s mission of guiding and empowering youth to reach their full potential.
Continuing the Story in Mobile, Alabama
In June 2026, Tiang will join fellow participants from across the nation in Mobile, Alabama, where they will take part in leadership development experiences, cultural heritage activities, and scholarship opportunities.
From the Dora Franklin Finley Heritage Trail Tour to the Second Line Parade and the Scholarship & Legacy Banquet, each experience reflects the deeper purpose of the Miss Juneteenth America Scholarship Pageantry Program — preparing young leaders to step forward with confidence, service, and purpose.
