Destiny Maynard, Junior Miss Juneteenth America Class of 2026 participant, brings creativity, leadership, and academic excellence to the Miss Juneteenth America Scholarship Pageantry Program.
Representing Daphne, Alabama, Destiny reflects the values of education, service, and personal growth that are central to the Miss Juneteenth America experience and the continuing story of American history.
A 7th grade student at Bayshore Christian School, Destiny continues to develop her talents and leadership through academics, theater, community service, and artistic expression while participating as a non-competitor in the Junior Miss Division.
Academic Excellence and Creative Exploration
Destiny maintains a 4.0+ GPA while exploring a wide range of academic and creative interests.
Her school involvement has included:

Through these experiences, Destiny continues to build confidence, discipline, and creativity both inside and outside the classroom.

Outside of school, Destiny actively participates in programs that encourage leadership, performance, and personal growth.
Her extracurricular activities include:
- Girl Scouts of South Alabama (Troop 8071) since kindergarten
- Piano student for seven years
- Horseback riding

Destiny has already earned recognition across academics, athletics, music, and equestrian competition.
Her accomplishments include:
- 38 equestrian ribbons, including the Hunter Jumper Award and Sportsmanship Award
- Overall 7th place for best equestrian
- First Place Female Ages 10–17 Golf Award
- 10 piano awards
- Gold Medal in the Universal Latin Exam
- Seven Track & Field medals
- Community Service Award through Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Mobile Chapter
These achievements reflect Destiny’s dedication, versatility, and commitment to excellence.
A Heart for Service and Leadership
Service is an important part of Destiny’s journey.
At Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, she serves as a junior usher, sings in the youth choir, and actively participates in youth ministry activities including Vacation Bible School and Wednesday Bible study.
She also serves as Second Vice President of The Maynard 4 Foundation, continuing a commitment to leadership and community engagement at a young age.

Destiny enjoys expressing herself through creativity and learning.
Her hobbies and talents include:

As part of the Miss Juneteenth America experience, participants proudly represent their Dream HBCU, celebrating the connection between education, heritage, and leadership.
Destiny’s Dream HBCU is Spelman College in Georgia, an institution recognized for empowering women through scholarship, leadership, and service.
At the Scholarship & Legacy Banquet in Mobile, Alabama, Dream HBCUs are honored alongside participants as they celebrate educational aspirations and future goals.

This message encourages her to remain adaptable, focused, and determined as she continues pursuing her goals.
A Future in Veterinary Medicine
Looking ahead, Destiny hopes to become a veterinarian, combining her love for animals with a desire to provide care and compassion through medicine.
Her experiences with horseback riding and equestrian activities continue to inspire her interest in animal care and wellness.
Supporting Animal Rescue and Care
Destiny’s nonprofit organization of choice is Willow Farms Equine Rescue, an organization dedicated to caring for and rescuing horses in need.
This connection reflects her passion for animals and her commitment to service and compassion.
Continuing the Story in Mobile, Alabama
In June 2026, Destiny will join fellow participants in Mobile, Alabama, for leadership development, cultural heritage experiences, and scholarship-centered programming.
