Welcoming Cayleigh Humphrey to the Miss Juneteenth America Class of 2026

Cayleigh Humphrey, Teen Miss Juneteenth America Class of 2026 participant, brings academic dedication, creativity, and leadership to the Miss Juneteenth America Scholarship Pageantry Program.

As a young leader from Mobile, Alabama, she represents the next generation carrying Juneteenth as American history forward through education, purpose, and perseverance.

A 10th grade student at W.P. Davidson High School, Cayleigh demonstrates the determination, discipline, and leadership that define the Miss Juneteenth America experience. Through her academic commitment, artistic expression, and community involvement, she reflects the values of leadership and opportunity that shape the program.

Academic Excellence and Achievement

Cayleigh is a student in the International Baccalaureate Program at W.P. Davidson High School, where she challenges herself through rigorous academic coursework.

Her dedication to learning is reflected in her impressive achievements, including:

  • 4.12 GPA
  • 26 ACT Score

Leadership Through School Activities

In addition to her academic pursuits, Cayleigh actively participates in several school organizations that allow her to develop leadership, teamwork, and confidence.

  • KDCII Dance Company
  • Varsity Cheer
  • DIMUN (Debate and Model United Nations)

Through these activities, Cayleigh continues strengthening her leadership skills while collaborating with peers who share a commitment to learning and growth.

Artistic Expression Through Dance

Creativity plays an important role in Cayleigh’s life.

She participates in Youth Praise Dance and enjoys expressing herself through movement and performance. Dance, along with drawing and leadership activities, allows her to channel creativity while building discipline, focus, and confidence.

Recognized Achievement

Cayleigh’s dedication and character have already been recognized through the M.I.S.S. Silver Award in the Miss Omega Lamplighters Scholarship Program, an honor that highlights her commitment to leadership, scholarship, and service.

A Heart for Service

Community service is an important part of Cayleigh’s leadership journey.

She has participated in initiatives that provide care and support for individuals in need, including volunteering to feed the homeless in her community.

Through service, Cayleigh continues to strengthen her commitment to compassion, leadership, and making a positive impact.

Dream HBCU: Southern University and A&M College

As part of the Miss Juneteenth America experience, participants proudly represent their Dream HBCU, celebrating the powerful connection between education, heritage, and leadership.

Cayleigh’s Dream HBCU is Southern University and A&M College in Louisiana, an institution known for cultivating excellence, scholarship, and leadership.

Southern University has a long tradition of preparing students for impactful careers across fields including education, healthcare, law, and public service.

At the Scholarship & Legacy Banquet in Mobile, Alabama, Dream HBCUs are honored alongside participants as they celebrate their educational aspirations and future opportunities.

Guided by Faith

Cayleigh finds inspiration in the scripture:

“Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you. He will never let the righteous be shaken.” — Psalm 55:22

This verse reminds her to remain grounded in faith and trust as she continues pursuing her goals and opportunities.

A Future in Healthcare

Looking ahead, Cayleigh hopes to become a physical therapist, dedicating her career to helping individuals regain strength, mobility, and confidence through rehabilitation and compassionate care.

Scholarship funds earned through the Miss Juneteenth America Scholarship Pageantry Program will support summer enrichment programs and educational opportunities that help her continue building the knowledge and skills needed to pursue her future in healthcare.

Supporting Children and Families Through Giving

Cayleigh’s nonprofit organization of choice is St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, an organization dedicated to advancing treatment and research for childhood illnesses while supporting families during difficult times.

Through this connection, Cayleigh hopes to contribute to efforts that bring hope, healing, and care to children and families across the nation.

Continuing the Story in Mobile, Alabama

In June 2026, Cayleigh will join fellow participants from across the country in Mobile, Alabama, where they will take part in a week of leadership development, cultural heritage experiences, and scholarship opportunities.

From the Dora Franklin Finley Heritage Trail Tour to the Second Line Parade and the Scholarship & Legacy Banquet, each experience reflects the deeper purpose of the Miss Juneteenth America Scholarship Pageantry Program — honoring heritage while preparing young leaders to shape the future.

As a member of the Miss Juneteenth America Class of 2026, Cayleigh joins young leaders nationwide who are transforming the celebration of Juneteenth into a living experience of leadership, scholarship, and service.

Cayleigh Humphrey’s journey reflects the promise of Juneteenth: faith, perseverance, education, and leadership carried forward into the next generation.
