The Maynard 4 Foundation is proud to announce Mrs. Anitra Belle Henderson as a Workshop Presenter for the 2024 Miss Juneteenth America Scholarship Pageantry Program!
Anitra Belle Henderson is the CEO of Lyvve Strategies, a communications firm that centers it work and portfolio of brands building better communities through digital and engagement strategies. Henderson also partners with her sister Dr. Valencia Belle in the ed tech space with SCHOOLS, an educational test prep company and Tech251, an initiative to raise the voices and build an ecosystem of underrepresented voices in tech and entrepreneurship.
Prior to her current roles, Henderson served as the Executive Director of Communications and External Affairs for the City of Mobile. She served three terms with Mayor Sandy Stimpson’s administration focusing on community affairs, federal and state government affairs, economic development, and communications. She has provided workforce opportunities for more than 5,000 youth building the city’s first youth summer and fall job/intern initiative (YES Initiative), developed a robust city citizens academy (C251), and led the formation of Alabama Big 10 Mayors Association.
Henderson has developed many initiatives to aide Mobile’s citizens in living their best quality of life including Mayor’s Stimpson’s Youth Empowered for Success (YES) Initiative giving thousands of youth the ability to work during the summer and fall months in Mobile and Baldwin County; Ignite Mobile, an initiative to give financial assistance to businesses who were deemed “high risk” according to the Safer-at-Home status during COVID-19, strategies to build a more equitable community through the Mayor’s Equity Initiative and currently reenergizing community stakeholders through the City of Mobile “C251” Citizens Academy.
Henderson has also supported the team in the revitalization, economic and community development of the Africatown community. The Africatown engagement includes working with partners from all over the United States.
Anitra has more than 25 years’ experience in the public relations and marketing industry with emphasis in the areas of healthcare, nonprofit, education, government relations and corporate responsibility. She has worked with local and national clients including Mobile County Health Department, Mobile County Commission, Commonwealth National Bank, Nickelodeon and Telemundo. Her work has been cited in a national case study with John Snow Institute and the Center for Disease Control.
Henderson is committed to her community by serving on various boards and committees including the Innovation Portal, Leadership Alabama’s Regional Council, Distinguished Young Women, Junior League of Mobile, Jack and Jill of America, Girl Scouts, USA Providence Foundation, the Social Justice Committee at the University of South Alabama and the Alabama Committee on Credentialing and Career Pathways by Governor Kay Ivey. Henderson is a graduate of Leadership Mobile, the Alabama Leadership Initiative and Leadership Alabama. She is married to Demetrius and has 3 beautiful young ladies, Kierstyn, Raven, and Rian.
