Let’s get to know Kaidyn!

Q: Why do you want to be crowned Junior Miss Juneteenth America or Teen Miss Juneteenth America?

A: Through this journey I’m learning so much more about African-American history that is not being taught in the classroom. From our contributions to this country, to our activIsm and the activists who have helped us to solidify our place in the fibers of this nation. I am so grateful for this experience.

Q: How would you serve as a role model as the crowned Junior Miss Juneteenth America or Teen Miss Juneteenth America?

A: Being able to educate.

Q: What is the key to success?

A: Dedication, focus, prepartion and loving what you are doing.

Q: What is your proudest accomplishment?

A: Being able to enter a sport that I never thought that I would be able to compete in and realize that I can, is an accomplishment for me. I was able to not let fear of the unknown takeover, And just step out on faith. This gave me a renewed confidence in my abilities. Being able to put fear aside can be difficult especially when you are going in to something you know very little about you have something to prove to yourself. It takes courage and courage is sometimes hard to find within yourself but needs to be a trait to reach for, when you are striving for excellence.

Q: What charity did you select and why?

A: Prodisee Pantry because food desperation for children and the elders is a serious social economic and physical problem.

Q: How do you plan to use your scholarship?

A: I would like to enroll in coding classes to further enhance my knowledge in that field. And also take more golf lessons to invest in myself and to further develop my skills and excel in competitive golf.
