Let’s get to know Jaelyn!
Q: Why do you want to be crowned Junior Miss Juneteenth America or Teen Miss Juneteenth America?
A: I would love to be an ambassador to the Maynard 4 Foundation. Being crowned Miss Juneteenth America would allow me to participate in more community service events and also give me an opportunity to empower, unite and motivate other young ladies.
Q: How would you serve as a role model as the crowned Junior Miss Juneteenth America or Teen Miss Juneteenth America?
A: I would serve as a role model by carrying myself in a respectful manner at all times, maintaining a positive attitude, and continuously studying & educating others on African American History/culture.
Q: What is the key to success?
A: I believe the key to success is setting clear goals & staying consistent. One of my favorite sayings is “if you believe, you can achieve”.
Q: What is your proudest accomplishment?
A: My proudest accomplishment is being selected as a Youth Violence Prevention Teen Model and advocating for youth violence & suicide prevention. This opportunity increased my level of confidence and allowed me to build relationships with the other models.
Q: What charity did you select and why?
A: We, the youth, are in desperate need of guidance and support. I selected Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Alabama because their purpose is to guide children to success by holding them accountable, while helping them reach their full potential….
Q: How do you plan to use your scholarship?
A: I plan to use the scholarship for ACT Prep, school uniforms/supplies, and leadership courses.
