Meet Ms. Daisha Corbin, 2024 Junior Miss Juneteenth® America Participant

Daisha Corbin of Theodore, Alabama is a 7th grader at Faith Academy, where she is involved in cheer, track and served as a Homecoming Maid. She also participates in tumbling and is active in her church.

Let’s get to know Daisha!

Q: Why do you want to be crowned Junior Miss Juneteenth America or Teen Miss Juneteenth America?

A: I would love the opportunity to learn more about my culture and my history. Too, I want to represent other young black females and inspire them to participate in the next Juneteenth!

Q: How would you serve as a role model as the crowned Junior Miss Juneteenth America or Teen Miss Juneteenth America?

A: I would serve as a role model by reaching out to different communities, spreading what I’ve learned and experience during my Juneteenth journey.

Q: What is the key to success?

A: I think the key to success is faith, prayer, trusting, and believing in the most high perseverance, dedication, loyalty, and expiring myself to never give up.

Q: What is your proudest accomplishment?

A: My proudest accomplishment was when I made the cheer team at school!

Q: What charity did you select and why?

A: My charity of choice would be Saint Jude. I selected this because my plan in the future is to become a neurosurgeon.I’m interested to help pediatric patients as well as geriatric patients fulfill their needs and goals, and or surgeries, needed to save a life.

Q: How do you plan to use your scholarship?

A: I plan to use the scholarship for college.
