Alana Williams of Mobile, Alabama is an 8th grader at Clark Shaw Magnet Middle School, where she plays softball and serves on the track team and as a cheerleader. She is also an active volunteer in her community.

Q: Why do you want to be crowned Junior Miss Juneteenth America or Teen Miss Juneteenth America?
A: I would like to be crowned Junior Miss Juneteenth because it reflects my personality. I enjoy learning about the history of black people in our country and how we were able to overcome so many difficulties. I would like the opportunity to represent Junior Miss Juneteenth America for personal growth and to meet new people.
Q: How would you serve as a role model as the crowned Junior Miss Juneteenth America or Teen Miss Juneteenth America?
A: I would serve as a role model by using my platform to inspire other girls to pursue their dreams. I will always maintain a positive attitude, lead by example, set clear goals, and always show respect.
Q: What is the key to success?
A: I believe the key to success is continuing to learn, hard work perseverance, and always put my best foot forward.
Q: What is your proudest accomplishment?
A: My proudest accomplishment is making A/B Honor Roll after moving to a new city and new school. Another one of my proudest accomplishments is making it to the Varsity State Track meet as a 7th grader.
Q: What charity did you select and why?
A: I chose Big Brothers and Big Sisters Charity because I want to have a positive impact on society and I want to help others. I believe giving back is very important.
Q: How do you plan to use your scholarship?
A: I plan to use my scholarship for ACT prep and school supplies.
