The Maynard 4 Foundation extends a heartfelt congratulatory message to Brianna Burrell, who was crowned Miss Alabama 2023 on July 1st of this year. Miss Burrell has been a supporter of The Maynard 4 Foundation’s Miss Juneteenth America Scholarship Pageantry Program since its inception. In her capacity as Miss Mobile Bay, she served as the Mistress of Ceremony for the 2022 Miss Juneteenth Scholarship Brunch. In 2023, as Miss Baldwin County, she served as a Special Guest welcoming our pageant participants on their first day and presenting their awards on the last day. She has been a huge inspiration to all of our young ladies, and The Maynard 4 Foundation will always be extremely grateful.
According to AL.com, Burrell is the third Black woman to earn the title of Miss Alabama in the competition’s 102-year history, following Tiara Pennington, Miss Alabama 2019-2020, and Kalyn Chapman James, Miss Alabama 1993.
